Yule Gathering
Date: Sunday, December 13th
Time: 4pm - 6pm
Location: Dandelion Spring Farm | 961 Ridge Rd, Bowdoinham, ME 04008
Honor the darkness of winter as we gather together and celebrate Yule in community at The Hive!
The season of Yule is a time when nature invites us to slow down and turn inward. The days grow shorter and the nights longer as we near the Winter Solstice and the earth settles down for its long winter’s nap. To honor this turning in the wheel of the year, we'll create an altar, make simmer pot blends, and cultivate the light and warmth of community even as we are held in the cradle of the darkness of winter.
Expect to tune into the energy of this powerful moment in the cycle of the seasons, connect with others, and learn about the culture and traditions of this magical holiday.
Seasonal treats and herbal tea will be served.
Bring a cushion to sit on or opt for a provided chair.
Instructor: Maya Rook
Maya Rook loves creating space for community to come together during potent moments throughout the year and explore the energy that is currently arising. She is the creator ofFirefly Studioand offers wellness classes throughout Midcoast and Southern Maine. Her sessions are informed by her experiences as a yoga and meditation teacher, practitioner of natural magic and Tibetan Buddhism, and work as a cultural historian. Participants have described Maya’s approach to rituals and gatherings as welcoming, magical, creative, and grounding. You will walk away with a deeper connection to yourself and others, awareness of the turning of the seasons, and fresh perspectives in how you view the world around you.
